Chapter-5 : JEE Chemistry Preparation [Subject Tips]
IIT JEE Chemistry preparation tips.
Here are some of the best preparation tips for IIT JEE Chemistry :
For Physical Chemistry, Read from NCERT and have your concepts clarified at your coaching institute. After you are done with a chapter, write down all equations from that chapter in a notebook for quick reference while solving problems. Solve problems from NCERT and your coaching material.
In Organic Chemistry, you need to study all reaction mechanisms and remember all named reactions. Make notes while you study each chapter. Write down the name of the reaction, mechanism (if required), and a few example reactions and exceptions (if any).
Inorganic Chemistry involves a lot of memorizing. Study NCERT properly.
Make notes. Notes are very very important for Chemistry. Especially when it comes to remembering things. Make it a point to note down the key points. And keep referring to them. Just go through them before going to bed. This will help you a lot.
Chapter-6 : JEE Maths Preparation [Subject Tips]
IIT JEE Math preparation tips.
Here are some of the best preparation tips for IIT JEE Maths :
Mathematics requires a lot of concentration, skill and brainwork.
Practice, practice, practice, is the only key for Mathematics. From wherever you can. The maximum you can. Practice subjective problems thoroughly too. It helps a lot in clearing concepts which are straight away used in objectives.
In JEE, questions are sometimes lengthy and the options are also close enough, so give special attention to calculations and time management.
The concepts and formulas should be at your fingertips. Know every shortcut possible. Know every formula possible. Never make the blunder of deriving formulae in the exam.
A working amount of memory is required to recall the formulas and methods. So don’t go in with the expectation that everything is just thought and understanding-oriented.
The important chapters which constitute the bulk of questions in JEE Maths are Coordinate geometry, Vectors and 3D, definite integration and matrices & determinants.
Chapter-7 : Managing JEE and Board Exams Preparation
Many students who are in class 12 also get worried about managing JEE preparation and Board exams together.
Here's how to manage JEE preparation along with board exams.
Board exams basically test your knowledge while JEE questions test application of knowledge. Acquiring knowledge with clear concepts will take care of your Boards. JEE Main and JEE Advanced requires more practice, speed, accuracy and time management skills using various results and tricks.
You have to be flexible between solving questions for board exams and JEE. Board exams have a step-wise marking scheme, you need to write in points, flowcharts and diagrams are part of the answers. While in JEE, you just want the answer in the shortest possible time with rough calculations.
Make the best use of your school time to study for your school board exams. The unit tests and pre-boards (half yearly exams) are a good time to check your preparation level of boards.
JEE syllabus covers all your class 12th concepts and topics of Physics, Chemistry and Maths. You will be well prepared for board exams when you prepare for JEE.
Keep JEE your priority because understanding concepts from JEE syllabus and solving problems will make it easier for you to solve board exams level problems. Writing subjective answers in boards is not difficult if your concepts are clear.
Either during board exams or a month before the exams (as per your preparation level), you need to solve sample papers of your board to practice subjective questions and answers.
If you put your best effort, you can score great marks in both JEE and board exams.
